The Next Step, Men, Diamond Rings For Your Engagement

Fashion trends are always changing and for many men, diamond rings are becoming an everyday accessory. No longer limited to a wedding band and a watch, for men, diamond rings are now being worn to make a statement. And one of the biggest statements they’re making is “I’m engaged!” Yes, mens diamond engagement rings have emerged as the newest trend in mens jewelry.

In some countries, it’s common for both men and women to wear an engagement ring but it’s only recently started to be a trend in the United States. In the past, most men didn’t even wear jewelry, and if they did, it was a simple wedding band and a watch. A lot of men had jobs that required them to work with their hands and a ring would have been a safety hazard. As more men moved off of the farms, out of the factories and into the office, mens jewelry started gaining in popularity.

Traditionally, a man gave a woman an engagement ring to show his love and his commitment to marry her. It was also a sign to other men that this woman was no longer single and available. As women became more and more independent and confident, they, too, wanted to show the world that their sweetheart was no longer on the market. Not only are women insisting that their men wear a wedding band, but now the trend toward mens engagement diamond rings has taken hold.

So far, most men who wear a mens engagement ring simply turn it use it as their wedding ring. But I can see the day coming when we’ll be buying wedding sets, and engagement ring and matching band, for men, too. Because of this new trend in men’s engagement rings, I guess we’ll have to come up with a new saying. Maybe something along the lines of “Men, diamond rings are YOUR best friend, too!”
