Round Diamond Rings: The Most Popular Choice

You can’t go wrong when you choose round diamond rings; they are by far the most popular choice of diamond rings on the market today. While some women prefer other shapes, such as princess cut, oval, pear, or emerald cut diamond rings, the round diamond continues to corner the market. If you do not know which shape the recipient would like and you are in the position where you have to guess, you can’t go wrong with a round diamond.

Round diamond rings make great engagement rings, anniversary rings, or rings for any occasion. Many women purchase a round cut diamond for themselves when they are in the market for a ring for their right hand. Sweet sixteen diamond rings and promise rings are often cut in the shape of a round diamond.

Since they are the most popular shape when it comes to diamond rings, you might expect to pay more for the popular shape but there are still ways you can save money and get a brilliant, sparkling diamond. Diamonds are priced according to many factors; perhaps you have heard of the 4 C’s, which stand for Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat. While most people refer to diamonds depending on how many carats they are, there are many other factors that go into the value of a diamond.

Clarity refers to how flawed the diamond is. While a completely flawless diamond is extremely rare, most diamonds have a certain amount of blemishes, or inclusions as they are typically referred to. The scale ranges from flawless to Included. If round diamond rings are labeled as included then you can probably see some of the blemishes with the naked eye. However, there are many diamonds that are rated as slightly included where you can’t see any blemishes at all once the diamond is set.

While clarity is just one of the important guides when it comes to the value and pricing of diamonds, it does help to know how the diamonds are graded and priced. Knowing just a little bit about diamonds could mean that you could get larger round diamond rings for the same price you would pay for a much smaller diamond that was less flawed.
